Dog Attack: Camden Pointe

by: Marie Nasr

I don’t know who to tell this to but I’m in the middle of training for a marathon for Team in Training…anyway nights are the only time during the week I can train and I’m usually alone but feel fairly safe in ole CP until last night.

Last night there were a lot more people out (9-10ish time) and it was great to have the company except for when some bulldog (possible terrier in there too), dark colored, charged me from out of someone’s yard (possible it wasn’t his yard). It scared the crap out of me and all I could do was scream ‘help’ 2-3 times. I guess my screaming scared him and he stopped charging but it really scared me and I wondered how I got out of a full attack. No one even came out of their home and I really belted it out. It was near the back a little past the stop sign (near the street – and it’s not them but it will put a location to where I was at – coming out of the cul-de-sac where the Kinnebrew’s live onto the main CLPkwy road).

Anyway, could you send out (I don’t know who does this) this plea to the homeowners to please make sure their pets are safely in their back yards or inside at night?

My biggest concern is that this dog is aggressive enough to do harm to a child and that I think scares me more. My own kid has had trouble getting home because of a dog but this one last night might not be as forgiving and I think (if anyone knows the owners) they should be alerted.

I used to be a long time dog owner and even though my dogs were good I would never guarantee to anyone that they couldn’t ‘turn’. I do send this with only good intentions and all I ask is that a kind reminder be issued to encourage dog owners to be aware of their pets whereabouts.

Thank you for listening to my concern.

Sincerely,

Marie Nasr
